Welcome to fyoli fyoli, a social enterprise nurtured by sisters Meenu and Seema.
We bring fresh design inspiration to heritage craft skills, collaborating with historically marginalized artisan communities, focusing on undeserved women and minority artisans.
We are shifting the narrative from charity and subsidy that’s often associated with the handmade economy from developing communities to that of excellence in craftsmanship and environmental/cultural sustainability. We believe in the wonderful possibilities of fresh design inspiration in tradition to produce global quality products while achieving UN sustainable development goals. Such gentle design interventions and skill building are important to keep heritage crafts relevant in the face of rapidly changing times.
While Meenu leads the creative vision and product development from California, Seema is our trusting, caring partner based in India, managing operations, compliances and exports.

Ecological, Social and cultural sustainability is at the heart of Fyoli Fyoli.
Designed in California and ethically made by artisans based in India. We are not simply putting a green sticker on the inequitable economic structures, waste and plastic problem in fashion, we are actively addressing it through the choices we make in procuring raw materials, slow methods of production and ethical standards.
Low Carbon Footprint: All our textiles are made on handlooms and many use hand spun yarns, emphasizing low carbon footprint methods of production. All surface decor techniques are handcrafting skills of hand embroidery, hand dyeing, hand block printing and on loom needlework for extra weft designs.
Natural and Safe Raw Materials:
We only use natural fibers in our textiles, primarily cotton, silk and wool.
We use OEKO TEX certified Rayon thread in our embroidered jewelry.
All our metal components in jewelry are Lead and Nickel free and our glass components are highest quality, lead free borosilicate.
Non Toxic Dyes: In addition to using undyed naturally colored yarns, we use plant and mineral based dyes in majority of our textiles. A very small fraction of textiles we have are dyed in low impact azo free dyes.
Small but Perfect: We keep our production batches small to avoid over production and offer made to order (Preorder) options for many of our sold out products. We collaborate with small family and neighboring community based producers with fewer supply chain points to enhance transparency and track quality and ethical standards.
Transparency: We are very transparent about what our products are made of, where they are are made, what processing they have gone under, who made them and how. We welcome all questions to learn more about our processes and supply chain so feel free to reach out.
Sustainable Packaging: We use 100% recycled (post consumer) paper boxes and plastic free packaging including compostable bags made from seaweed and recycled paper adhesive packing tape.
